The musical is based on a movie released by New Line Cinema in 1988 starring Rikki Lake as Tracy Turnblad. In July 2007, New Line Cinema will be releasing its silver-screen adaptation of the said musical. Setting is in the 60's where racism was still a big issue in American society. Well, in this case, Baltimore.

The music is very 60s like, pre-retro ala supremes!
